Billing
Easy billing that focuses on two elements – users and projectsOur pricing structure is designed around two main elements: the number of seats and the number of projects with associated plans. These components allow us to offer a range of packages that can be customized to accommodate your organization's specific needs, ultimately ensuring that you only pay for the resources and services that you require.
The cost of our hosting packages is applied at the company level, encapsulating all resources belonging to a single entity. We offer flexible contract options, allowing you to choose between a 12-month fixed term or an auto-renewing 1-month term. This flexibility ensures that you can select the contract duration that best aligns with your organization's objectives and financial planning.
Billable resources
- Number of seats – our hosting packages account for the number of individuals within your organization who require access to manage dashboard resources or access WordPress websites through the SiteBox Login Gateway using SiteBox Identity. The cost of your hosting package will be influenced by the total number of seats needed, allowing for scalability as your organization grows.
- Number of projects – in addition to the number of seats, our pricing structure considers the number of projects and their respective plans. This component allows us to offer a diverse range of hosting packages that cater to the specific requirements of each project, ensuring you receive the necessary resources and support to achieve your desired outcomes.
Projects billing
In order to provide a comprehensive and adaptable pricing model for our hosting packages, we have incorporated two key metrics for project billing RealVisits and RealUsage. By taking these factors into account, we can ensure that our clients only pay for the resources and services they actually utilize, promoting efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
RealVisits metric
For most websites, real visits are the primary metric to consider when evaluating hosting package consumption. This metric is relatively easy to calculate and does not require extensive technical knowledge. Real visits represent the number of unique users who access your website or web application measured on a monthly basis. As the number of real visits increases, so does the demand for server resources and the overall cost of your hosting package. By closely monitoring this metric, you can gauge your website's performance and make informed decisions regarding hosting package upgrades or downgrades as needed.
RealUsage metric
The second metric, RealUsage, refers to the consumption of virtual machine resources underlying your website and all its environments. This metric is more technically focused and may be particularly important for websites that employ unconventional web development approaches, perform resource-intensive server-side processing, or do not make use of caching mechanisms. RealUsage encompasses factors such as CPU usage, memory consumption, and disk space, which can all impact the overall performance and cost of your hosting package. For organizations with websites that demand a higher level of server resources, it is essential to monitor RealUsage alongside RealVisits in order to accurately assess your hosting package needs.

How metrics are calculated
RealVisits explanation
When evaluating the performance and resource consumption of your website, it is crucial to accurately measure real visits. These visits represent genuine user interactions with your website, similar to the data provided by analytics tools like Google Analytics.
To ensure a precise representation of real visits, we take several factors into consideration. We focus on counting visits to WordPress (or Gatsby.js) generated pages, while excluding non-marketing traffic and other irrelevant data points that may skew the results.
- Number of requests made to generated pages
- Number of unique IP addresses
RealVisits exclusions
- Static resource requests – requests made to static resources, such as JavaScript, JSON, and CSS files, are not counted as real visits. These requests do not represent user interactions with your website's content, and therefore do not contribute to resource consumption in the same way as genuine visits.
- User-managed uploads directory – requests to access files within the user-managed uploads directory, including images, fonts, and dependencies, are also excluded from real visit calculations.
/wp-admin
and/wp-json
directories – requests made to the/wp-admin
and/wp-json
directories, which primarily pertain to the backend management of your website, are not included in real visit measurements. This ensures that administrative traffic does not influence the overall performance assessment of your website.- Bad traffic – real visit calculations exclude traffic resulting from DDoS attacks, malicious campaigns, or other illegitimate sources. This ensures that your hosting package cost and resource allocation are based solely on legitimate user interactions with your website.
RealUsage explanation
RealUsage is a key component of our hosting package pricing structure that focuses on the consumption of virtual machine resources. By monitoring these metrics, you can ensure that your website has the necessary resources to handle traffic efficiently and maintain optimal performance. The RealUsage metric consists of the following elements:
- CPU Usage – CPU usage measures the processing power required to handle your website's traffic and server-side processes. Due to its fluctuating nature and potential for sudden spikes, CPU usage does not have a hard cap. Instead, we offer a baseline value (e.g., 1vCPU) that can be temporarily increased to handle traffic spikes (e.g., up to 8vCPU). To ensure your hosting package is well-suited to your website's needs, the baseline CPU usage should be consistently consumed in the low-mid range. Prolonged consumption in the mid-high range or exceeding the baseline may be considered excessive and may require a package upgrade. Persistently high CPU usage can result in more frequent 502 errors due to rate limiting procedures.
- RAM Usage – RAM usage reflects the memory consumption required to support your website's processes and handle user requests.
- Storage Usage – storage usage tracks the amount of disk space required for your website's files, databases, and other data.
- Data Transfer Usage – data transfer usage measures the amount of data sent by your website to the Internet users.
All of these metrics can be easily monitored through the dashboard, providing you with a comprehensive overview of your website's resource consumption. By regularly tracking RealUsage, you can make informed decisions regarding your hosting package selection and ensure that your website has the necessary resources to maintain optimal performance.
